gal: geen waardwisselimg, geen aecia. Uredinia bovenzijdig, oranje, zeer opvallend; later in de zommer worden onderzijdige, gele en veel minder opvallende urednia gevormd. Urediniosporen fijn bestekeld, met 3-4 onduidelijke poren. De telia zijn, onderzijdig, lichtbruin. De teliospren zijn knotsvormig, bestaande uit een rij van ca 5 bruine gladde cellen, elk met één kiempore. De steel is blijvend, hyalien, ongeveer even lang als de spore. De teliosporen kiemen onmiddellijk, zodat er in in een seizoen meerdere generaties mogelijk zijn.

gall: no hostplant alternation, no aecia. Uredinia epiphyllous, orange, very conspicuous; later in the summer hypophyllous, yellow incnspicuous uredinia are formed. Urediniospores finely spinulose, with 3-4 indistinct pores. The telia hypophyllous, light brown. The teliospores are clublike, with c. 5 smooth, brown cells, each with one germination pore. Pedicel hyaline, persistent, about as long as the spore. The teliospores germinate immediately, enabling several generations in a season.
