gal in het voorjaar bovenzijdige wratachtige spermogonia. Later ontstaan op grote, onderzijdige, oranje vergallingen tot 2 cm hoge aeciia, die zich met een aantal zijdelingse spleten openen.
gall in spring epiphyllous pustular spermogonia. Later large orange coloured hypophyllous gallings develop, with up to 2 cm high aecia, openng by a number of lateral slits.

gal alleen telia, op zwellingen van de takken, ± kegelvormig, tot 2 mm hoog, vochtig bruingeel. Teliosporen in twee typen: kleurloos, dunwandig, gedrongen en bruin, dikwandig, slank; sporen apicaal kegelvormig. Ze meten 20-30 x 38-40 µm; elk van de twee dellen met 2 kiemporen nabij de scheidinswand.
gall only telia, on swellings of the branches, ± conical, up to 2 mm high, yellowish brown when moist. Teliospores in two forms: hyaline, thin-walled, stout, and brown, thick-walled, slender; spores apically conical. They measure 20-30 x 38-40 µm; esch of the two cells with 2 germimnation pores close to the separation wall.
