gal: geen waardwiseling. Aecia onderzijdig, oranje, zonder peridium maar omringd door enekele paraphyse. Uredinia als de aecia, maar kleiner, omgeven door een groot aanta paraphysen. Teliosporen langgesteeld, donkerbruin, een rijtje van ca 3-5 cellen, aan de top versmallend in een kort spitsje; steel lang, kleurloss, sterk hygroscopisch.
gall: no alternation of hostplant. Aecia hypophyllous, orange, without a peridium but surrounded by some paraphyses. Uredinia like the aecia but smaller, surrounded by numerous paraphyes. Teliospores long pedicellate, dark brown, transversely divided into c. 3-5 cells, top cell tapering into a short apiculus; pedicel colourless, persistent, strongly hygroscopic.
