Ze zijn omgeven, soms ook verdeeld, door een rij van bruine ± knotsvormige paraphysen. Teliosporen tweecellig, slank, met een gladde, dunne wand die alleen aan de top wat verdikt is. Steel kort, blijvend.
gall: no uredinia. Teia hypophyllpus, as up to 5 mm long vertical stripes; they remain long covered by the epidermis. They are surrounded, often also divided, by rows of brown, ± clavate paraphyses. Teliospores two-celled, slender, with a smooth, thin wall, that only apically is somewhat thickened. Pedicel short, persistent.
