Uredinia en telia bovenzijdig, bruin, vaak in korsten op vervormde en verkleurde plekken, spoedig naakt. Urediniosporen 18-30 x 23-27 µm, wrattig, met 2 equatoriale kiemporen. Teliosporen 25-26 x 35-37 µm, kort-elliptisch, twee-cellig, wrattig; steel kleurloos, tot 40 µm. De waardplant wordt door de aantasting vaak sterk misvormd.

Uredinia and telia epiphyllous, brown, often forming crusts, on disfigured and discoloured spots, soon naked. Urediniospores 18-30 x 23-27 µm, verrucose, with 2 equatorial germination pores. Teliosppores 25-26 x 35-37 µm, short-elliptic, 2-celled, verrucose; pedicel hyaline, up to 40 µm. The infection often causes strong malformation of the host plant.
