Puccinia punctata
gal: Spermogonia beiderzijdig. Aecia evenals de spermogonia zelden gevormd; onderzijdig, in groepen op verkleurde en soms ietwat vergalde plekken, bekervormig met witte ongeslagen en in slippen verdeelde rand, met gele sporen. Uredinia en telia meestal beiderzijdig, respectievelijk licht- en donkerbruin. Urediniosporen met 2, meestal equatoriale poren. Teliospren twee-cellig, 14-39 x 21-67 µm, bruin, wand aan de top sterk verdkt, op een licht bruine steel.

Aecia like the spermogonia rarely formed; hypophyllous, in groups on discoloured, sometimes somewhat galled spots, cupulate, with white, recurved margin split into segments and yellow spores. Uredinia and telia generally amphigenous, light and dark brown, respectively. Urediniospores with 2, generally equatorial pores. Teliospores two-celled, 14-39 x 21-67 µm, brown, with apically strongly thickened wall, an a light brown pedicel.

opmerkingen: door Gäumann en Klenke & Scholler wordt binnen deze soort een aantal formae speciales onderscheiden.
Het verschil tussen P. punctata en P. difformis is niet helder; volgens Gäumann is het enige fundamentele verschil het feit dat difformis geen urednia vormt; of het ontbreken van uredinia dan punctata uitsluit is echter niet duidelijk. Bijkomende verschillen zijn de groepsgewijze rangschikking van de aecia bij punctata en de vorming van telia op de stengels bij difformis. Met veel aarzeling wordt het hieronder afgebeelde materiaal daarom gerekend tot punctata.
notes: Gäumann and Klenke & Scholler recognise within this species several formae speciales.
The difference between P. punctata and P. difformis is unsharp; according to Gäumann the only fundamental difference is the fact that difformis does not form uredinia; but whether the absence of uredinia excludes punctata is not clear. Additional differences are the clustered arrangement of the aecia in punctata and the formation of telia on the stems in difformis. With much hesitation therefore the material illustrated below is attributed punctata.
