Aecia grotendeels onderzijdig op sterk gezwollen delen van het blad; ze doen zich voor als wratjes waar het peridium door een pore in de top te voorschijn komt. Sporen bleekgeel, dikwandig (tot 3 µm), zeer dicht fijn-wrattig met 3-6 poren die door een vlakke papil bedekt zijn.

gal: uredinia als lange kussens de bovenzijde van het blad of op de bladschede. Urediniosporen dikwandig, fijn-bestekeld, met 5-8 poren. Telia lineair, bovenzijdig. Teliosporen eencellig, bijna bolvormig; wand glad, apicaal sterk verdikt; steel stevig, blijvend, langer dan de spore.
