opmerking Gymnosporangium-soorten vertonen een waardwisseling tussen Juniperus (soms ook andere Cupressaceae), de primaire waardplant, en Rosaceae, waaronder meidoorn, als secundaire waardplant. Determinatie op soortniveau is alleen mogelijk na microscopisch onderzoek.

note Gymnosporangium species alternate between Juniperus (sometimes other Cupressaceae) as primary hostplant, and Rosaceae, including Hawthorn, als the secondary host. Identification to the species level is possibly only with microscopical study.
