Daar maakt hij een smalle, nauwelijks breder wordende, zwak vertakte, bruine, voldiepe, gang, die eindigt op de hoofdnerf. Daar wordt of een kleine blaasmijn gevormd, of de larve vreet zich door de middennerf naar de stengel toe. De larve verpopt zich in een kogelronde cocon, die hetzij in de stengel ligt, dan wel in het het blaasmijntje op de hoofdnerf (Hering, 1957a; Scherf, 1964a).
mine The weevil generally lives as a stem borer, but also as a leaf miner. It then makes a narrow, hardly widening, weakly branched, brown full depth corridor that ends upon the midrib. Sometimes a samll bloth is formed there, or the larva works through the midrib towards the stem. The larva pupates in a globular cocoon that either lies in the stem or in the small blotch on the midrib (Hering, 1957a; Scherf, 1964a).
