larve De larve wordt (als Agromyza distorta) beschreven door Hering (1955a) en Griffiths (1955a, 1963a). Zeer opvallend zijn de enorm vergrote, schijfvormige, voorspiracula met 200-250 papillen (waarschijnlijk een aanpassing aan het zeer natte milieu van de waardplant). De mandibel heeft het ongewoon hoge aantal van 5 tanden. De achterspiracula, elk met 3 papillen, zitten zo dichtbijeen dat ze elkaar raken. Door Griffith (1963a) geplaatst in zijn A. nigripes-groep.
