mijn Grote voldiepe blaasmijn, die het distale deel van een pinnula beslaat. De mijn begint aan de top, waar aan de onderzijde van de nerf een langwerpige eischaal zichtbaar is. Larve solitair. De mijn bevat veel frass.

opmerkingen Volgens Hering (1957a) is in de hem voorafgaande periode Chirosia cinerosa Zetterstedt verkeerd geïnterpreteerd en verward met histricina (die hij toen nog hystrix noemde). De echte cinerosa zou alleen leven op Matteuccia struthiopteris, terwijl histricina zou leven op alle hierboven genoemde plantengeslachten inclusief Matteuccia. De moderne naamlijsten beschouwen cinerosa en histricina als aparte soorten. De recente Nederlandse naamlijst van Beuk, Prijs & de Jong (2002a) gaat ervan uit de cinerosa en niet histricina in Nederland voorkomt. Aangenomen dat Hering's opgave van waardplanten correct is, duiden mijn waarnemingen van Asplenium ruta-muraria, Dryopteris dilatata, Polypodium vulgare en (vooral) Pteridium aquilinum op het voorkomen in Nederland van histricina, niet cinerosa.
Sterke voorkeur voor beboste, beschaduwde, plekken (Brown & McGavin, 1982a).
notes Hering (1957a) writes that authors that preceded him had misunderstood Chirosia cinerosa, and confused it with histricina (called by him still hystrix). The real cinerosa would only live on Matteuccia struthiopteris, while histricina would live on all fern genera mentioned above, including Matteuccia. Modern checklists indeed consider cinerosa and histricina two separate species. The recent checklist of the Dutch Diptera by Beuk, Prijs & de Jong (2002a) takes it that cinerosa and not histricina is the species that does occur in the Netherlands. Assuming that Hering's list of hostplants is correct, my observations from Asplenium ruta-muraria, Dryopteris dilatata, Polypodium vulgare, and (especially) Pteridium aquilinum do not support the view of Beuk et al.
Strong preference for the more shaded woodland sites (Brown & McGavin, 1982a).
