de Meijere breekt zich ernstig het hoofd of het puparium geelwit of zwart is; beide komen voor. Het is denkbaar dat zwarte puparia geparasiteerd zijn, maar dat is uit zijn kweekresultaten niet goed op te maken.
De Meijere was deeply puzzled by the fact that both yellowish-white and black puparia were found in this species. Conceivably, black puparia may have been parasitised, but this is not clearly apparent in his description of the breeding results.
