De frass ligt hier in aparte, zwarte korrels, minder vaak in draadstukjes. De mijn wordt voortgezet in een breed, onregelmatig begrensd bovenzijdig deel met onregelmatig verspreide frasskorrels. Verpopping buiten de mijn, boogsnede in de onderepidermis.
