De larve verlaat regelmatig de mijn en begint elders opnieuw. In tegenstellinng tot Phytosciara halterata mineren de larven levenslang.

The larvae frequently leave the mine to restart elesewhere. Contrary to Phytosciara halterata the larvae remain miners all their life.
