Een zeer kleine, hoofdzakelijk tropische familie, in onze streken alleen vertegenwoordigd door het geslacht Batrachedra, waarvan een soort mineert op Picea abies (Koster & Sinev, 2003a). De Britse soorten worden besproken door Koster (2002a).
Stehr (1987a) beschouwt de Batrachedridae als een subfamilie van de Oecophoridae. Hij geeft ook een gedetailleerde afbeelding van de larve van een Amerikaanse Batrachedra-soort: goed gechitiniseerde kop en prothoracale plaat; 4+1 stel vrij plompe buikpoten, met de haakjes alle van gelijke grootte in een enkele rij.
A quite small, mainly tropical family, in NW Europe represented only by the genus Batrachedra, with one species mining on Picea abies (Koster & Sinev, 2003a). The British species are treated by Koster (2002a).
Stehr (1987a) considers the Batrachedridae a subfamily of the Oecophoridae. He also presents a detailed illustration of the larva of an American Batrachedra-species: well-chitinised head an prothoracal shield; 4+1 pairs of prolegs with the crochets all of equal size and in a single row.
