mijn De larve mnaakt in de herfst van een draaddunne gang met centrale frass-lijn; in het vorjaar wordt die voortgezet in een veel bredere gang maar al spoedig gaat de larve vrij leven en maakt vanuit de bladonderzijde vlekmijnen. Volgens Klimesch (1937b) leeft de larve uiteindelijk als scheutboorder. Verpopping in een wittige, spoelvormige cocon zonder lengteribbels.

In spring this is continued in much wider corridor, but soon the larva leaves the mine, and starts making fleck mines, working at the leaf underside. According to Klimesch (1937b) the larve ultimately lives as a shoot borer. Pupation in a whitish, spindle-shaped cocoon without length ribs.
