zak Grijsbruine, driekleppige buisvormige bladzak met een mondopening van 20-45°. De larve mineert in de grondbladeren. Nadat hij de zak aan het glad heeft vastgesponnen verlaat hij, anders dan de meeeste Coleophora's, de zak en maakt van daar uit lange gangmijnen.

case Greyish brown, trivalved tubular leaf case with a mouth angle of 20-45°. The larva mines in the lower leaves. After tha case has been tightened to the leaf, the larva, otherwise than in most other Coleophora's, leaves it case, and makes from this atarting point long corridor mines.

Volgens Hering in het noorden ook op Solidago; Maček (1999a) vermeldt de soort uit Slovenië van Solidago virgaurea. I & A Šulcs (1989a) melden een waarneming op Gypsophila fastigiata.

fenologie Larven van september tot mei (Hering, 1957a). Na de overwintering aten de larven niet meer (Klimesch, 1858c, Oostenrijk).
