Volgens Patočka & Turčáni (2005a) verschillen de poppen van C. heinemanni en die van C. marginea erin dat de voorste helft van de abdominale segmenten dorsaal bij heinemanni fijn bestekeld is, maar grof bestekeld bij marginea. Poppen-materiaal van marginea uit Engeland verschilt in dit opzicht echter niet van een -op grond van de mijn- als heinemanni gedetermineerde pop uit Nederland: de bestekeling is in beide gevallen gelijkmatig zeer fijn.

According to Patočka & Turčáni (2005a) the pupae of C. heinemanni and those of C. marginea differ in the spinulation of the anterior half of the abdominal segments: fine in heinemanni, coarse in marginea. However, pupa material of marginea from Britain did not differ in this respect from a pupa from the Netherlamds that, on the basis of its mine, had been identified as heinemanni: in both cases the spinulation was equally fine.
