mijn Brede, voldiepe gang-mijn bovenop de dikke nerven, met brede lobbige, transparante, zijtakken. De gang zelf is zeer ondoorzichtig, wit, later bruinig. In tegenstelling tot de uitlopers van de mijn, zijn de gangen van binnen bekleed met spinsel. De allermeeste frass wordt uit de mijn verwijderd; korrels blijven vaak hangen in spinseldraden onder de mijn. De larve rust in de lengte bovenop een nerf en is dan weinig opvallend. Verpopping buiten de mijn.

mine Broad full depth corridor overlying the main veins, with broad lobelike, transparant, extensions into the blade. The corridor itself is quite opaque, white, later brown. The corridors, but not the extensions, are covered with silk at their inside. Almost all frass is ejected from the mine; grains may be seen trapped in silk below the mine. The larve rests lengthwise upon a vein, and is very inconspicuous then. Pupation outside the mine.
