Bland, (1996a) beschrijft de larve als geelwit met bruine kop; prothoracale plaat bestaat uit verscheidene kleine bruinige stukjes; volgens Traugott-Olsen & Schmidt-Nielsen (1977a) is de onderzijde van de larve donkerbruin.
De larven in de mijn hebben vrij diepe insnoeringen tussen de segmenten. Die zijn een gevolg van het feit dat ze in de mijn een beetje geplet worden - buiten de mijn zijn ze veel meer rolrond.
Bland, (1996a) describes the larva as being yellowish white with a brown head; prothoracal plate consisting of several brownish sclerites; according to Traugott-Olsen & Schmidt-Nielsen (1977a) the ventral side of the larva is dark brown.
The larvae, when in the mine, have fairly deep intersegmental constrictions. This must be because they are squeezed a bit - outside the mine they are much more terete.
