De voorzijde van de kopkapsel is matig gechitiniseerd, bruin; de achterhoeken daarentegen zijn sterker gechitiniseerd en zwart. Omdat de kop gewoonlijk teruggetrokken is in de halfdoorschijnende prothorax geeft dat de indruk alsof het pronotum een paar vage zwarte vlekjes heeft. Abdomensegment 1 heeft een paar korte zijdelingse uitsteeksels (Hering, 1957a). Vaak zijn ze ternauwernood zichtbaar.
Ik weet niet of jonge larven ventraal op de thorax en eerste abdomensegmenten zwarte vlekjes hebben, zoals bij Eriocrania semipurpurella.
The frontal part of the head capsule is moderately chitinised, brown; the rear lateral extensions however, are strongly sclerotised. Because the head for its largest part normally is retracted into the semitransparant pronothorax, this gives the impression of a pair of vague black pronotal spots. Abdomen segment 1 has a pair of short lateral extensions (Hering, 1957a). Often they are hardly visible.
I do not know whether you larve have dark spots ventrally on the thorax and first abdominal segment, like it is the case in Eriocrania semipurpurella.
