mijn De larven beginnen met het maken van ronde blaasmijntjes van 4-5 mm diameter; een voorafgaand gangetje van enkele mm wordt meestal overlopen. Vaak is er een aantal op één blad. Later snijden ze daar een stuk uit, niet veel kleiner dan het mijntje zelf. Hierin verpakt laten ze zich op de grond vallen, en leven daar verder van dor bladmateriaal; onderwijl vergroten ze het huisje naar behoefte.

mine The larva starts making a corridor of a few mm, followed, and mostly overrun, by a circular blotch of 4-5 mm diameter. Often several mines are found in one leaf. Soon they make an excision of almost the same size as the blotch. Sandwiched in this excision they drop to the ground and continue feeding on decaying plant material. Their case is enlarged all the while.

Door verscheidene auteurs wordt hier voor het Europese vasteland aan toegevoegd: Acer monspessulanus; Carpinus betulus; Cornus sanguinea; Malus sylvestris; Ostrya carpinifolia; Prunus mahaleb; Pyrus communis; Sorbus. Recentelijk door Rob Edmunds gevonden op Tilia cordata en door mij op Robinia pseudoacacia.

Several European sources add a number of other hostplants: Acer monspessulanus; Carpinus betulus; Cornus sanguinea; Malus sylvestris; Ostrya carpinifolia; Prunus mahaleb; Pyrus communis; Sorbus. Recently found by Rob Edmunds on Tilia cordata and by me on Robinia pseudoacacia.

opmerkingen De soort is niet erg gewoon; met name in westelijk Nederland een zeldzame soort (Microlepidoptera.nl, 2008).

Eind mei 2008 werden in Vorden mijntjes gevonden op Robinia, een tot dusver onbekende waardplant. De meeste hadden al een uitsnede gemaakt, wat erop duidt dat de larven zich tot dat stadium met succes op deze waardplant hebben kunnen ontwikkelen.

In the end of May 2008 mines were found in the eastern part of the country on Robinia, a novel hostplant. Most larvae already had made their excision, which suggests that they had succesfully developend on this hostplant.
