Alnus incana, Pietersberg; in beide gevallen is het binnenste paar doorns is bijna zo groot als typisch is voor Ph. rajella. Omdat de bouw van de mijn (veel, fijne plooitjes) aansluit bij die van strigulatella is het materiaal tot deze laatste soort gerekend (zie ook Gregor & Patočka, 2001a).

Alnus incana, Pietersberg; in both instances the inner pair of spines almost have the size typical fo Ph. rajella. Because the mine, with many fine folds agrees with strigulatella the mateiral has been taken for that species (zie ook Gregor & Patočka, 2001a).

Alnus incana, Tilburg, Kaaistoep; cremaster, abd-7 ventraal: niet alleen het cremaster, maar ook de bestekeling van abd-7 vormt een overgang naar rajella.
