Corridor, 10-15 cm long, very narrow at first, gradually widening to half the width of the leaf in the end, either along the leaf margin or following the midrib. The mine runs from the base of the leaf upwards. Pupation external.

Not known from the Benelux countries (Fauna Europaea, 2010).

From Fennoscandia to the Pyrenees, Italy, and Greece, and from Ireland to Poland (Fauna Europaea, 2010).

Greyish green, prothoracic and anal plates amber coloured.

Biselachista freyi: Traugott-Olsen & Nielsen (1977a). Parenti & Pizzolato argue that occidentalis is a junior synonym of P. juliensis.
