Lower-surface, long and narrow tentiform mine, generally between two lateral veins. Lower epidermis with one or more strong folds. Frass in a clump in the angle of the mine closest to the midrib. Cocoon white, peppered with frass grains.

At high altitudes (> 1000 m) one larva generation in September – October; in lower regions additionally a generation in July (Hering, 1957a).
