A lower surface tentiform mine without clear folds. Lower epidermis silver grey, densely mottled with rusty brown or dark grey specks. Mine at upper side a blister, discoloured except a still green centre. Often several mines in a leaf. Pupation within the mine.

Cannabaceae, monophagous

Celtis australis & subsp. caucasica.

phenology

Larvae from May till September, in two generations at least (Hering, 1957a).

Not known from the Benelux countries (Fauna Europaea, 2009).

Entire southern Europe (Fauna Europaea, 2009).
